Uncle Jason visits from Texas!!

Adelynn was so excited to have her Uncle Jason come visit while he was on Fall Break from Dallas Baptist University. We had a great time just hanging out together. One day we went to the zoo, most days we just hung out and tried to make sure Jason could sleep in! Uncle Jason did take Addie on a fun date to Chick-fil-a and then to Starbucks. Jason got Addie to take the cutest pictures at Starbucks - check out his facebook page for all of them.

The Zoo

At the airport saying, "Bye." Can't wait to see you Jas at Thanksgiving! Isn't my brother so cute?

skydiving, marriage and peanut butter?!

When Addie was a little over two, her daddy, Uncle Justin and Aunt Cora went indoor skydiving and it must of made quite the impression on Adelynn. A couple of weeks later we were eating lunch and Adelynn said, "When I grow up I want to get married, go skydiving and eat peanut butter!" The priorities of a two year old -pretty funny!

Peanut Butter for the first time!

Literally for the past couple of months, Adelynn would ask me almost everyday if she was old enough to have peanut butter yet. Long story, but because of her seasonal cough that she has gotten every fall through March, the Dr. suspected asthma and said it would be better for her not to have peanut butter yet. (Side Note: So far she hasn't gotten the cough this year - Yeah!)

So, when we went to see Dr. Bob for her three year old check-up Adelynn asked the Dr. herself if she was allowed to have peanut butter yet. She was pretty estatic when he replied, "Yes." So that day we went right home and had a peanut butter and jelly sandwich for the first time. After her first one, she asked for one more! Yummy.

The first video is of her getting ready to try a PB sandwich and the second video is after she ate one.

Pumpkins

Yesterday we went and picked out our pumpkins. Adelynn was determined to find the "right" size pumpkins for Daddy, Mommy and herself. The video clip at the bottom is of her finding her perfect pumpkin.

Our Carved Pumpkins.

Fall Fun

At the beginning of the month we took a drive up to the mountains to see the Aspens. The leaves were beautiful this year! It was a fun family day.

Pregnancy - what a journey!

"Wonder what it is?..."

Yesterday was such an exciting day to have our 20 week ultrasound and find out that we are having a baby girl!! It is so wild what they can see on the baby inside my tummy - the four chambers of the heart, the bladder full and empty, tiny toes, tiny hands, the brain, really what a testament to the miracle of creation and God's intimate design of each and every one of us that started while we were still in our mother's womb.

Even though yesterday was amazing, it was probably one of my worst feeling pregnancy days yet. I was so nauseous and on top of it had a killer headache that I could not get rid of.

Today I feel great, which is such a contrast! I have not felt nauseous at all and I am hoping that today is a sign of what is to come. It is amazing what I have gotten done today and how a day is so much easier to get through when you actually feel good. Here's to feeling better!!

Addie's 3rd Birthday Party at Funtastic Fun!

Addie turned three on September 26, 2008 and we had her party on the 28th. She had a blast with her little friends at an indoor amusement park. She said her favorite rides were the swings and the Ferris wheel. By the end of the day Adelynn had lost her voice from screaming on all of the rides. We had a great day celebrating - I just can't believe she is three!

All of the kiddos on the giant teddy bear - almost everybody looking!

My 30th (Surprise) Party!

We got back from Cabo on Saturday night and then on Sunday we were tentatively planning on going to our friends little boy's 2 year old birthday party. I was pretty exhausted on Sunday and was thinking about just skipping the party. My mom and sister were strangely really interested in going to the party, but at the time I didn't catch on at all.

Well, it turns out the party was really a surprise party for my 30th birthday a month early! I was completely shocked! Cordell did an amazing job of pulling together the party, even while out of the country and keeping it all a secret from me.

It took me a while to adjust that this party was actually for me! Our good friends the Pagano's graciously opened up their home to host the secret party and Cordell had recruited a couple of other close friends and family to help out with all of the details. He called them the "Core" team, so if by some chance I saw any of the emails I would think they were for his school. Pretty sly!

The party was a special day and there were many extra touches that made me feel so celebrated...my mom had brought a bunch of pictures of me growing up that my sister put up all around the house, Margaret made a yummy carrot cake (my favorite!!), the McCabe's made a Ipod mix of all my early 90's hip hop and rap favorites, so many of my favorite friends were there to celebrate with me, everyone recorded little video messages for me, and so many people had worked together to pull off this HUGE surprise and they TOTALLY got me!!!

Hanging out in the Pagano's great backyard. Bess had decorated with the cutest little pinwheels hanging from the trees.

Opening my "30th" presents.

So, for years my whole family makes fun of me for a face that I make when I am mad or upset. They have captured this face in several photos, which helps add to the teasing. Adelynn had just seen the picture and we asked her to imitate mommy's face. Kind-of scary when you see your expression's on your child's face!
Adelynn and Emma kept "sneaking" the M&M's from the trail mix.

Bess, my sneaky friend and the hostess of my party!

Shelby with her daughter Hannah. Shelby brought fun stuff like squirt guns for the kids to play with.

Me and my sis!
Laura supposedly was in town for a business trip, I couldn't believe that I didn't catch on to any of this!! Laura helped out a lot with all of the party prep. It was so special to me that both my mom and my sister were here to celebrate with me.
Margaret holding Avery who Adelynn adores!

Thanks again to everyone who helped throw me a very fun surprise party! Cordell, you did an incredible job. Thanks for helping me start my 30s in such a "shocking" way!
