"I pledge allegiance..."

A couple of months ago, Cordell and I were standing in our bathroom and all of a sudden Adelynn walks in and starts saying the "Pledge of Allegiance" and then breaks into "My Country 'Tis of Thee." I look at Cordell and ask, "Did you teach her the pledge?" He hadn't and so we asked Addie where she had learned it. She replied, "Bible Study Fellowship!" I had no idea that they did the pledge every week. I wonder what else she has learned that we have no idea about?!!

Of course having her re-create it for the video is never quite the same, but it was an attempt. We definitely got a little silly at the end.

Swimming on Tuesdays

Almost every Tuesday Adelynn and I meet "all of her friends," as Addie says at the indoor pool to swim. The kids are all getting quite confident at the pool now, so most of the time is spent following them in all directions. It is a blast and this week we attempted to get a couple of pictures. I am excited for the weather to get a little warmer so that we can move to the outdoor pool soon! Addie is wearing the orange bathing suit.

Memorial Day Weekend at the Peterson's

We had such a great time just getting away for a couple of days this weekend to our friend's house in Grandby, Colorado. Nate, Stacey and their little girl Aspen were such great hosts and let us and the McCabe's come and crash. They even stayed up and played games - which for those of you that know them this is a BIG thing!! We introduced them to Settlers of Catan and let's just say the competition was strong - we even had to play one more game this morning, while we put on a DVD for the girls!

It was refreshing to just relax together and hang out. OK, it wasn't relaxing during Settlers, but the rest of the weekend was! On Sunday, after attending their mountain church, we went over to Nate's parents house for a BBQ. Then we headed across the street to meet their horse Bandit and to see the baby cows. Adelynn was such a brave girl and sat on the horse. She also fed him a lot of carrots!

Here are some pictures highlighting the trip...

All of the girls watching a DVD on the couch, while we played Settlers!

Aspen, Hannah, Addie and Emma all holding hands at the farm.

Cordell holding the girls looking at the cows - MOO!
Sweet Emma liked eating the carrots herself.

Addie sitting on the horse - she didn't want Nate to let go of her.

We fed Bandit a lot of carrots!

More carrots with Mrs. Peterson helping.

Thanks again Nate and Stacey - We had so much fun! We will definitely have to do it again!

Nana and Papa Visit

Adelynn loved having her Nana and Papa here for a visit from April 25th through May 5th. She kept them very busy when we were at the house with such activities as "Where's Addie?...", playing guitar, reading books, and learning new songs. We also went swimming, to the zoo, and the Littleton Historical Museum. Here are some pictures and videos highlighting their trip...
